Meet the makers

Geert Lejeune is a forest engineer who worked in tropical forestry and wood research for many years. He started making bagpipes and flutes in 1983. He first started learning from Remy Dubois, who taught him how to make French bagpipes. He then continued on his own and over the years has developed many types of flutes, usually in the Irish style. He loves researching and improving flutes, always searching for a way to make them easier to play, and even more beautiful to listen to.

Fiona Coudenys is a linguist-led-astray, who joined Geert in 2012. After a few years in the non-profit sector while learning flute making on the side, she too became a full time flute maker in 2018. She shares Geert's love for the search for perfection and is quite obsessed with creating a thing of musical beauty every single time.
