Flutes in F
A flute in G or F is also called a Third Flute. A "Third flute" plays a third higher than a flute in the standard pitch of D. Our Third flutes are based on a Rudall & Rose Third flute in the key of F#. Geert adapted this design to make it play in the contemporary keys of F and G. Especially our F flute is a great option for both the fireside player, the walking musician and the slightly tired tune-lover after a long working day: it sound like a proper, full, warm flute, but takes only half the breath and finger stretch of a D-flute.
A flute in G can be made on request as well.
The G flute is available with up to 6 keys. All keywork is block mounted. There is usually a waiting time for keyed instruments, please contact us for more information.
This flute is offered in African Blackwood and in Boxwood, and in the case of a 6 keyed instrument also in Cocus.
All flutes come with a tuning slide and the headjoint can be half-lined or fully lined with German silver. The middle piece of this flute, the body, always comes in 1 piece.
